Vella Brahmans ‘Vella Show Crown’ Competition

Vella Brahmans is running the Vella Show Crown Competition following guidelines provided under the Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming Act 1999.

Terms and conditions of the Vella Show Crown Competition are outlined below.

Competition overview

The Vella Show Crown Competition is a game of skill where any cattleman or woman from across Australia have the chance to win $5,000 cash prizes each year for three years, with a total cash prize pool of $40,000 spread across the three years (from 2025 till 2027). To win, entrants must win any of the following titles at the following events, and the animal who is awarded the title MUST be sired by a Vella Brahmans bull, produced from a Vella Brahmans dam, or be an animal purchased from Vella Brahmans:

• Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2025

• Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2025

• Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2026

• Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2026

• Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2027

• Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2027

• Grand Champion Brahman Male at Beef2027

• Grand Champion Brahman Female at Beef2027.

Winners will be chosen if the animal meets the criteria as outlined under Eligibility criteria and is awarded the nominated title at the nominated event as outlined under Competition prize details and timeline. To win, you must follow the nomination process as outlined under How to enter.

Competition prize details and timeline

Total prize pool: $40,000 cash spread across three years (2025-2027)

Prize pool increments: $5,000 cash to each event and title as outlined below.

Events and titles:

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2025

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2025

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2026

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2026

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Male at Ekka2027

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Female at Ekka2027

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Male at Beef2027

• $5,000 to the Grand Champion Brahman Female at Beef2027.

Cash prizes will be awarded to any winner by bank transfer to the winners’ nominated bank account, after the winner accepts their prize as outlined under Winner announcement. All prizes are not transferrable and are not redeemable for any other types of prizes (e.g. semen or Vella Brahmans animals).

Eligibility criteria

1.      All entries must carry an Australian Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) registration.

2.      All entries must meet one of the following criteria:

a.      Sired by a Vella Brahmans bull, or

b.      Produced from a Vella Brahmans dam, or

c.      Branded as a Vella Brahmans animal.

Who can enter

The owner of the nominated animal, or a direct family member (e.g. son or daughter) of the owner of the nominated animal can enter. No international entries are eligible.

How to enter

All entries must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined above. Participants must take the following steps to enter the Vella Show Crown Competition.

1.      Register your nomination by emailing Vella Brahmans at ray@vellabrahmans.com.au, two weeks prior to showing your cattle at your nominated event, and provide the following information in the email:

a.      Entrant’s Full name

b.      Entrant’s Stud name

c.      Entrant’s Email address

d.      Entrant’s Phone number

e.      Entrant’s nominated event and title (e.g. Grand Champion Male at Ekka 2025)

f.        Animal you would like to nominate for the event, including:

            i.      Animal Name

           ii.      Animal Identifier number

          iii.      Sex

          iv.      Birth date

           v.      Animal’s Pedigree

g.       Proof of animal’s registration with the Australian Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA)

Entries will open at 10.00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on 26 October 2024 and will close at 5.00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on 18 April 2027.

Cost to enter

It is free to enter the Vella Show Crown Competition.

How to win

• To be in the running, you must enter a Brahman animal into Ekka 2025, Ekka 2026, Ekka 2027, or Beef 2027.

• You must nominate your entries that you wish to put forward for the Vella Show Crown Competition, to Vella Brahmans two weeks prior to showing your cattle at any event. Information on how to nominate can be found under How to enter.

• You must show your Brahman animal at the nominated event and MUST win Grand Champion Brahman Male or Grand Champion Brahman Female at the specified events underneath the Competition prize details and timeline.  

• Your Brahman animal that wins the title at the specified events MUST be: 

• Sired by a Vella Brahmans bull (for Ekka 2027 or Beef 2027),

• Produced from a Vella Brahmans dam, or

• An animal purchased from Vella Brahmans.

• All entries must carry an Australian Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) registration.

Winner announcement

Vella Brahmans will contact winners no later than four weeks’ post their nominated event (as outlined under Competition prize details and timeline) via their provided contact details on the nomination email. Vella Brahmans will allow winners two weeks to accept their prize. If they do not accept their prize within two weeks of notification, Vella Brahmans reserves the right to disqualify the entrant and not award their prize. Vella Brahmans will take all reasonable steps to contact the winner and allow them the chance to accept their prize.

If the winner accepts their cash prize, Vella Brahmans will announce the winner on their website and social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).

Disclaimer

Vella Brahmans is not responsible for any costs incurred by entrants in entering the Vella Show Crown Competition, including but not limited to any costs associated with entering, or travelling to participate in, any of the event competition titles as outlined under Competition prize details and timeline. Should an entrant be successful and win, Vella Brahmans will not reimburse the winner for any costs associated with participating in the Vella Show Crown Competition.

Any entrant into the competition warrants that the competitor meets the entry eligibility requirements and accepts these terms and conditions.

Vella Brahmans has the right to disqualify any entrants at any point in time, should improper conduct occur by that entrant including but not limited to:

• a breach of these Terms and Conditions, or

• the animal awarded at the title and event not matching the nomination provided to Vella Brahmans.

Vella Brahmans reserves the right to make changes to the Vella Show Crown Competition, including these Terms and Conditions, at any time. If you have objectives to these Terms and Conditions, you should not participate in the Vella Show Crown Competition.
